What happens when a patient is treated endoscopically?
Endoscopy enables neurosurgeons to look into the body of the patient. This happens by means of a very thin tube, the so called endoscope. Within the endoscope there are separate tubes for illumination, liquids and surgical tools needed by the neurosurgeon. The diameter of modern endoscopes is 7 mm only!
